Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch Review

You’re wearing your new gym clothes and shoes. You’ve got your music playing and your water bottle in your hand, ready to go. But something is missing. You need an extra boost: something to motivate you and make sure you’re getting the most out of your workout. You need something to visualize, maintain and track your progress. All that can be done using Fitbit’s newest piece of fitness technology, the Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch. The Blaze keeps all the old workout monitoring technology Fitbit is known for, but has upgraded it in fantastic ways.

Pure Pulse Heart Rate Monitoring

The Blaze upgrades its heart rate monitoring with “Pure Pulse Heart Rate”. This includes improved and more accurate heart rate monitoring. It also gives you real-time indication of your current work out zone. A quick glance at the Blaze will tell you if you’re in a moderate, fat-burning zone or if your sweat is an indicator that you’re heart rate is hitting that zone for a cardiovascular workout.

Improved Screen

Another key feature you can see just by looking at it; it includes an aesthetically pleasing color screen. Users will no longer have to look at a somewhat dull, side-scrolling digital screen to see how many calories they’re burning or what their heart rate is. The Blaze will give you real-time numbers, as well as graphs of how these numbers have changed throughout your workout session.

Real-time Workouts with Fitstar

The nice, big screen also allows room for something no other Fitbit has provided: Fitstar. This gives you on-screen workouts with which you can follow along. Not only that, but it also gives you a visual guide to each piece of the workout to ensure you are doing everything with correct form. You’ll never have to worry about looking clueless again while doing a workout.

Pros

  • All the fitness monitoring from the previous Fitbit products
  • Updated screen and graphics to give you more visual updates of your workout
  • On-screen fitness workouts and guide with which to follow along
  • Ability to target workout zones and choose certain workouts for accurate tracking
  • Upgraded heart rate monitoring and GPS tracking technology
  • Already a great market for custom wristbands to accessorize your Fitbit Blaze

Cons

  • Limited stock color options (Black, Blue, Plum)

Conclusion

All in all, the Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch is a huge improvement from the previous products, both visually and the abilities it has. It deflects from the basic, digital watch-like screen to a large, colored screen that would turn any head at the gym in its direction. It also includes on-screen workouts, the ability to target workout zones and visually experience your real-time workout statistics. If you work out and don’t have one, this would be a great purchase, as it blazes ahead of all other Fitbit models. For somebody who owns a previous model, upgrading isn’t a necessity, as older Fitbit models are still great fitness trackers. But if you do decide to upgrade, you will not be disappointed.
